Having always been bad at history, I can't figure out whether at the time of making these recordings Georgia was an independent state or not. Excellent stuff all the way through, maybe with an inexplicable exception of the Kutaisi Choir.
I guess it can be heard here that years/aeons ago, life was simply different from what it is now.

Hi,

Thanks for posting this as it looks very interesting. I believe that Georgia was part of the Russian Empire when these recordings were made. I have an interest in most vintage music, so I look forward to checking this out.

I also wanted to say thanks for including my site in your blogroll. I'm happy to return the favor and will backlink your blog as well.

All the best,

RF

Dzięki!
Nawet nowe nagrania gruzińskiej muzyki brzmią niesamowicie, co dopiero takie starocie. Do tego Chakrulo (Czakrulo?) w zupełnie innej wersji, niż powszechnie (?) znana.
Kurde, polski blog z takimi rzeczami? Szacun.
